"The Splinter"

Saturday Owen was playing at Nena & Paw Paw's house with Paw Paw on the deck. Of course he didn't have his shoes on, ( I know, I know, I am a horrible mother) and he got a big splinter in his foot. He cried for I don't know how long and would not let us anywhere near it. We tried EVERYTHING. Finally I called the nurse and she said to soak the heck out of it and get him into the doctor first thing Monday. Well it just so happened that his pediatrician was on call at the clinic on Saturday. They tried all they could to get it out but no luck. The doctor told me that we had to come back in first thing Monday morning and that they were going to send him up to surgery to have it removed. I was definitely not looking forward to that at all. Owen has already had 2 surgery's on his eye since he was a year old and they did not go well. I prayed and prayed that God would remove that splinter without having to have surgery. Needless to say I put him in the bath Saturday night for about an hour and when he got out he let me try and I was able to pull it out. Thank You Lord. There is still a Little bitty piece in there and I am not for sure what the doctor is going to say about it, but I am hoping that it will be ok to just leave there and let it work itself out. We will find out tomorrow morning. I will be sure to let everyone know.

I was so proud of Owen at the Dr.'s Office, because he layed there and let them poke him with that needle and he took it like a champ.
These are the tattoo's Dr. Olufs gave Owen for being such a big boy. ( Thomas the Train of course.)

Here Fishy Fishy Fishy!!

Owen loves to feed the fish in Nena & Paw Paw's new pond that Daddy built.

Trip to Sam's...

Owen teaching Ellie how to play the drums on the Nestle Quik container.

God Bless Uncle Todd & Aunt Laci for opening up their home and for putting up with us over pretty much the whole month of September. As most of you know Chris has been re-doing their house and so we have been there with him for that and then this last week, Chris was working near San Antonio and was staying at Todd & Laci's, which luckly for Owen & I, we were able to be with Chris in the evenings when he got off work. You will never know how much that meant to us for you to let us stay and have that time with daddy. It is VERY rare that we get to be with him after work like most other families. So once again THANK YOU soooo much.
Enough about that, While staying in San Antonio it gave Laci and I a lot of time to spend together and do some fun shopping. Meanwhile, the kids got dragged along with us, sometimes willingly and sometimes not. Here are some pic's from our trip to Sam's.

Owen was a HUGE helper with Ellie, I was so proud of him, it makes me want to give a little brother or sister even more. Anytime Ellie would start fussing he was there to help. We didn't even have to ask half of the time he just picked up the bottle and in the mouth it went.

I love this one of Ellie!! She is just laid back relaxing.

Clay Casa... So much fun!!

We got to go to a really cool place called Clay Casa when we went to see Uncle Todd and Aunt Laci. Owen painted an airplane and had soooo much fun with it. Chris and I made a really cool cross out of cut up glass. However, Chris decided that I was taking way to long to do the cross because as a women I am into detail way to much, so while I walked off to get Ellie to sleep he took over. Literally I was gone 5 minutes and when I came back it was done. And it looked great at that, go figure. Thank you Aunt Laci for taking us.
Unfortunately I never got any pictures of Owen painting his plane because we were all so busy making our stuff as well.
